Quarter Horse Racing Magazine Closing Down – RIP 2009

New has just arrived for Halloween , THE AMERICAN QUARTER HORSE RACING JOURNAL is closing down and will be added into another Magazine. i guess its just not as important as the barrel horse Magazine.

this is sad folks , the stud fees are going down in the racehorse industry and the racetracks are closing followed by the best magazine for AQHA racehorse owners.

Not a good sign for next year.

A Look Back At “Zoom To The Money” win at the Mile High Futurity

Roy Baldillez rode seventh-fastest qualifier and 20-1  long shot Zoom To The Money to a come-from-behind win in the August 10, 400-yard Mile High Futurity (G2). Campaigned by Margarito Montalvo of Commerce City, Colorado, and saddled by Chris Gandarilla, the Colorado-bred Shazoom filly stopped the timer in :20.012 en route to a nose victory over Cherry Creek Futurity (RG3) winner and 2-1 choice Bully Eyes.

Zoom To The Money was bred by Jean Chavers of Fort Lupton, Colorado, a 30-consecutive-year breeder who has bred 13 stakes winners and the earners of more than $1.9 million, including 1988 champion aged stallion Bully Bullion and ‘91 champion sophomore filly See Me Gone. The filly became the 34th stakes winner from 459 starters sired by Shazoom, a 15-year-old son of champion Takin On The Cash who won the 1995 Speedhorse Sprint Futurity (RG3) at Trinity Meadows in Texas and was third in that season’s Grade 1 Texas Classic Futurity.

Zoom To The Money’s dam, Miss ATM, is a 13-year-old winning daughter of Bully Bullion and See Me Gone. The mare has foaled two winners from four starters, including 2007 Lucille Rowe Derby (RG3) runner-up Make Money Anywhere, a filly by Make It Anywhere.

Campaigned exclusively in Colorado thus far, Zoom To The Money has won one of four starts. The winner’s share of the $114,430 Mile High Futurity purse increased the filly’s bankroll to $46,692.
